Rosa pushes Eliseo onto his back and begins to mark him with her nails and teeth. She loves that he likes when she’s rough with him, and every mutual bite makes her wetter. It was my very first book by the Author. I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Well done, Ms Winslow. You are a talented writer.
This book grabbed my attention from the very first page.
Rosa and Eliseo started as best-friend as kid, were inseparable back then. Later their paths separated and they met after several years, in present days. The chemistry is there between them, from the first moment, as they meet after all these years, but both of them are trying to act like a professional. Only stay in a business relation.
Rosa fought her feelings for Flaco. She always stayed away from deep feelings in her relationships. Never allowed to sink too much by her emotions. Less emotion, less pain.
Rosa is a strong woman, who knows what she wants and try to find her own path in the business life. Despite the fact her mother is not too happy of her plans, though support her. Family is always first for her, but she try to stay independent, following her dreams. She is a „dutifully daugther at home and a wild child everywhere else”. Rosa has a nice life with her own dreams. She wants to come them through.
Eliseo is a talented chef who has earned a name for himself in New York. He has a sad past, has been running away from it all his life. The past is still haunted by what he done and not proud of it, but it is part of his life, can not change this. Cooking is a passion and of course women. He really have a womanizing charm! Good looking, tattooed Cuban Adonis and a fantastic dancer! He needs a fresh start, his dream is an own place, he’d always wanted his own kitchen.
Let’s talk about sex. This book was on fire. Full of passion. Do not be shy, those scenes are very steamy and intense.
Not sex is the only passion. Theres are good foods, big meals, beautiful places in Miami, a nice Cuban family, real love and big dreams. Cubans are in strong bonds between families and friends. It was sensual, a goody story enveloped in heady romance. The whole book is passionate about food, family, life, love. A real hedonist.
I loved the characters, each of them was unique. A beautiful love story. I liked that the story was slow-building and the fears has not been disappered by the first touch. They have to figure out how they work together and love each other at the same time.
The story is in the present days but also covers many years in the past to understand what and why. Find out how they got out from Little Havana to the Miami first-class, wealthy, luxurious life.
Miami, mouth-watering food, romance, family and love. That kind of love, what you’re chasing in your life. But everything is in place when it's time.
I highly recommend it! It is a really good erotic-romance book and so much more. You can read it as standalone, despite it is the second part of the Wildflowers series.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the way how this author writes, I will catch up with the following books of Ms Winslow, for sure.
