 Livynek azonnal feltűnik, amint besétál a kávézóba. Lélegzetelállítóan jóképű, olyan áthatóan kék tekintettel, hogy majdnem kiszolgálni is elfelejtik. És amikor kimegy az ajtón, Livy azt gondolja, hogy soha többet nem fogja látni. De aztán megtalálja a szalvétára írt üzenetet, melyen az aláírás: „M”. 
A férfi csupán egyetlen éjszakát akar, hogy kényeztesse őt. Semmi érzelmet, semmi kötődést – semmi más, csak kéjt. Minden védőfal, amit Livy maga köré emelt magányos élete során, egyszeriben leomlással fenyeget ezzel a zavarba ejtő emberrel szemben. Célratörő, mégis jólnevelt. Úriember, mégis fensőbbséges. Szenvedélyes, mégis érzelemmentes. A vonzalom azonban oly erős, hogy Livy képtelen bármit is megtagadni tőle.. beleértve önmagát is. 
M valami olyan, mélyen lappangó, függőségbe taszító vágyat ébreszt fel Livyben, melynek létezését a lány addig nem is sejtette, és melyet, félő, csak ő elégíthet ki. De a lány érzi, hogy a gyors autók, a drága öltönyök és fényűző lakás mögött egy sebzett személyiség rejtőzik. 
Ahhoz, hogy testestül-lelkestül az övé legyen, Livynek fényt kell derítenie a sötét titkokra. Valóságos megszállottsággal merül el a férfi világában, próbálja legyőzni a védőpajzsait, pedig ez a megszállottság azzal fenyeget, hogy visszavonhatatlanul összetöri a szívét…
